Foothills School Division
Foothills School Division serves the learning needs of approximately 8000 students and 21 public schools, 3 Hutterite colony schools, and 6 dual track French Immersion\English programs. The Division lies within the boundaries of the Municipal District of Foothills on the City of Calgary’s southern border and is governed by a publicly elected Board of Trustees. The system employs approximately 800 certified staff and support staff.
Each and every person who is a member of the Foothills learning community is committed to providing the highest quality learning experience for Foothills students. Classroom teachers vary instruction to meet the individual needs of their students. Administrators, learning support teachers and family/school liaison workers provide additional help with the learning process. The combined efforts of students, staff and parents has let to a strong track record of achievement. Foothills students meet and, in most cases, exceed Alberta standards and averages on provincial examinations. Their accomplishments in the fine arts as well as a wide variety of athletics are equally noteworthy. Our team’s commitment to the well being of each student, to the teaching and learning experience and to being the best at what we do is unending. |
