It’s an enviable distinction largely attributed to the region’s friendly, welcoming atmosphere and unsurpassed natural scenic beauty which offers a wealth of outdoor recreational opportunities throughout the year, ranging from camping and hiking to fishing, snowmobiling, hunting and skiing. The region – comprised of a richly unique and multifaceted blend of cultural descents including Anglophone, Francophone and Aboriginal heritages – is driven by a strong economic engine, fueled by key sectors such as agriculture, forestry, oil and gas and tourism. The geographical setting of HPSD spans an area of more than 372 kilometers, stretching west-to-east and includes the communities of Falher, Donnelly, High Prairie, Kinuso, Joussard and Slave Lake. HPSD provides quality education and learning opportunities to more than 3,600 students in Kindergarten to Grade-12. The division employs more than 700 staff at 12 schools (two of which offer outreach education programs). - Elk Island Public Schools is recruiting a temporary part-time 0.571 FTE Mechanics Teacher at Vegreville Composite High. This position is for two classes of Mechanics 10/20/30. There may be a possibility of increasing the FTE to include teaching in areas outside the field of mechanics.
