Mission Statement
Ponoka Christian School’s Mission Statement is “Educating our Children Together with Home and Church to know the Lordship of Christ.” A Profile of the School Authority Ponoka Christian School was founded in 1984 to offer an education delivered from a Christian perspective. PCS is a parent-governed independent school serving parents and students from Protestant Christian denominations (a majority of families are members of the two Reformed churches in Ponoka County). Students come to PCS from the Town of Ponoka and County of Ponoka. The school offers ECS to Grade 9 programs, following the guidelines of the Alberta Education Curriculum. Junior High students receive various options classes, including a woodworking class at Central Alberta Christian High School. All teachers are certified by Alberta Education. The Ponoka Christian School Society is a member of Christian Schools International (CSI) and the Association of Independent Schools and Colleges of Alberta (AISCA).
